MIL-PRF-26139D
3.5.1.1. Danger zone. A red danger zone shall be marked on the air temperature gauge face
beginning at 120° Fahrenheit (F).
3.5.1.2. Relief device. A relief device shall be incorporated to prevent over pressurization of
aircraft under test.
3.5.2 Maintenance and servicing. The tester shall be constructed so that lubrication, adjustments,
repairs, and overhaul can be easily accomplished by personnel without the use of special tools.
All components shall be selected and located for ease of operation, servicing, inspections and
maintenance; shall be able to service and visually inspect without removing panels or
components.
3.5.3 Accessibility of controls. All operating and service controls shall be readily accessible and
easily operated by personnel wearing heavy gloves.
3.5.4 Acoustical noise. Acoustical noise limits shall be those that are acceptable and current for
industrial application and shall be no more than 95 dBA (decibels "A" level). These limits shall
not be exceeded at ten feet from the periphery of the tester. At the operator position the limits
may be five decibels higher in each frequency band than those allowed at ten feet.
3.5.5 Reliability. The tester shall have a minimum mean time between failure (MTBF) of 500
hours.
3.5.6 Maintainability. The tester shall be so constructed as to enhance accessibility for
troubleshooting and repair. No special tools will be required unless specifically authorized by the
procuring activity. The mean time to repair (MTTR) a tester shall not exceed two hours including
troubleshooting, removal and replacement of defective components and operational checkout of
the tester. The maximum downtime for a single failure shall not exceed four hours.
3.5.6.1 Preventive maintenance. The tester shall have a mean time between preventive
maintenance (MTBPM) of 1,000 hours.
3.6 Performance. The tester shall be capable of satisfactory operation after exposure to the
following conditions:
a. Storage temperatures ranging from -65° F to 165° F.
b. Operating temperature from -40° F to 125° F.
c. Precipitation as encountered in any locale in any season.
3.6.1 Altitude. The tester shall operate satisfactorily with a pressure altitude ranging from sea
level to 6,000 feet
3.7 Electrical system hardware. All electrical equipment and wiring shall conform to NFPA
Pamphlet 70. All electrical equipment less than 18 inches from the ground surface shall be
explosion proof for Class I, Division 2 location per Section 511-2 of NFPA Pamphlet 70. The
electrical system shall be designed for operation on a 380/440V, 3 phase, 50/60 cycle power
supply and shall be designed for conversion to 220V, 3 phase, 50/60 cycle. Voltage tolerance
